Distribution of the spatial frequency of changes in the electrostatic potential around the genomic DNA of bacteriophage T7 around promoters, specific to the native phage and host RNA polymerase

The aim of this work was to identify the differences between the frequency characteristics of the charge of the DNA molecule of phage T7 in the region of its native and host (E.coli) promoters. A wavelet transform using the Morlet wavelet was chosen as a tool for analysis. Comparison of the wavelet spectra of phage and bacterial promoters showed that the signal power in the host promoters in the range of 10-15 Hz (wavelength 20-30 angstroms) was 7-8 times higher than that in the phage region, and also that the frequency power in the range of 2-4 Hz (wavelength 75-150 angstroms) in average for the whole genome was 1.5 times lower than that in the promoter regions and that the frequency in the range 10-15 Hz in genome was similar in power to that in the host promoters. The high power in the range of 2-4 Hz was equally characteristic of both bacterial and viral promoters.
