The topic of the talk is British trench poetry of WW1, and its translation into Russian. This poetic heritage, which constitutes the national treasure trove, will be discussed in historical-cultural context. The main focus will be on translation of this poetic legacy into Russian, and the challenges it presents. Translations of a significant number of such poems will be presented and discussed.
