We analyze experience of creating secondary vocational education departments in a classical university. Based on the results of the work in this direction in Voronezh State University and its divisions, we have concluded that it is better to train vocational specialists in educational atmosphere of a classical university compared to the same training at secondary and higher vocational institutions. This practice seems to be timely and promising.
