The process of training highly qualified personnel should be inextricably related to the practical activities of students to solve complex non-standard tasks. This means that it is highly important to take into account the needs of the labor market for the preparation of educational programs. It should become the basis for forming a list of competencies for a future graduate of an educational organization. The Meshcheryakov Laboratory of Information Technologies of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) actively participates in the training of IT specialists, mainly for tasks in large-scale scientific projects. Both individual training courses for Russian universities and entire master’s degree educational programs are developed. The educational process uses the resources of the JINR Multifunctional Information and Computing Complex. Various events (schools, conferences, hackathons, etc.) are organized on the basis of JINR, JINR Information Centers, as well as universities cooperating with JINR; through participation, students gain not only theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills in computational physics and information technology. The results of this work do the talking: JINR is replenished with new young highly qualified personnel!
