Conference publicationsComparison of experimental data on phenol-induced enhancement of the chemiluminescence response with the quantum-chemical calculationsRussia, Pushchino The present our study of enhancement of the sensitivity of luminoldependent chemiluminescence with phenol derivatives in a model system containing luminol (2.8x10-5M), horse-radish peroxidase (0.02 mg/ml) and hydrogen peroxide (2.9x10-5M). In the presence of phenol derivatives (10-3 – 10-7М) the intensity of the chemiluminescence response increased in the series: phenol (3–7%) > fluorophenol (10–12%) > fluorophenol (20–25%) > fluorophenol (70–73%) > iodophenol (120–130%). The energy difference (ΔEradical−ΔEanion ) was shown to increase in the series: phenol (47.36) > 2-fluorophenol (52.04) > 4-fluorophenol (52.54) > 3-fluorophenol (54.92) > 4-iodophenol (55.02) > luminol (58.85) > 4-nitrophenol (79.17) > 2,4-dinitrophenol (110.65). For a number of compounds whose energy difference exceeded the value obtained for luminol, a quenching of the chemiluminescence response was observed. The quantum-chemical calculations were completely confirmed by the experimental data. |
