Generalization and mathematical modeling in the process of teaching mathematics in secondary school

In this paper the attention is given to the problem of development of creative abilities of school pupils. The authors consider two interconnected aspects. One of the aspects is forming of generalization thought process of pupils. The other aspect is introducing the method of mathematical modeling to pupils. It is important to form the pupils’ ability to build a mathematical model and to use it for solving of the problems of a proper type. This is illustrated by three types of problems.
