The issue deals with the adaptive control system investigation results. The adaptation contour of the system is applied for the proportional–integration–differential (PID) regulator’s parameter adjustment in the conditions of the plant model structure and parameters uncertainty. The class of the adaptive system is the selfadjusting non–search system with the etalon model. In addition to the known results the investigation of the adaptation quality was worked out for the cases when the plant characteristics differ from the ones taken into account at the stage of adaptation algorithms synthesis.
