The temperature of the human body surface indicates the work of the external organ (the skin) and, indirectly, the state of the internal organs. A change in temperature may indicate the effectiveness of a particular external influence and the processes occurring in the body in response to the impact. One of the main components contributing to the value of surface temperature is blood microcirculation. We have discovered oscillatory processes of relaxation of surface temperature to a new or initial level after various external impacts: a cold test, low-intensity optical irradiation, and an electromagnetic field of extremely low frequencies. The temperature was measured using thermographs in the infrared range.

In the literature, using the wavelet analysis, calculations of the frequencies of fluctuations in blood flow were performed and the correspondence of the calculated frequencies and the mechanisms causing the fluctuations was found. The temperature fluctuations that we observe have frequencies much lower than those calculated for normal blood flow (in the range from 0.005 to 1.6 Hz, divided into 6 intervals [1]) and, apparently, are caused by other reasons.

We performed a Fourier analysis of the obtained time dependences of temperature by the F-approximation method [2]. The calculated frequencies are in the range from 1,3·10-3 to 4,5·10-4 Hz. This range is divided into three intervals, the oscillation period in which is 12,5 ... 16 min; 20 ... 27 min (with the highest Fourier coefficients); 32,2 ... 37 minutes.

The response time of an organism to a temperature change is 15 ... 20 minutes. It is likely that the response times to external influences in the form of changes in surface temperature are also about 20 minutes and are determined by the work of the hypothalamus.
