Efficiency of aluminia reduction cell can only be achieved via deep analysis of technological subprocesses that form the whole process. On of these subprocesses is "shaking of anodes" which is performed in order to remove gas bubbles stuck on the anode's surface reducing electrical conductivity and making it less uniform.

MHD-stability also depends on velocity distribution withing the flow volume and on distribution of electrical currents over the anodes. Mathematical model developed by authors is used to perform numerical simulations of subprocesses - and to evaluate the dependency of MHD-stability on mentioned parameters.
