Using of MATHEMATICA for solution Statics of system with unulateral constraint tasks

The program (“notebook” in MATHEMATICA terms) for study the part “Statics” of course “Theoretical Mechanics” with computer in MATHEMATICA environment is presented. It contains the description of the method and the program of finding in the system with unilateral constraints such some not given active forces, that the constraints are tight. The calculation tasks for individual studies are included in the program. The example of task solving with necessary comments and illustrations is considered. The program is oriented to students and teacher using computer technology.

For the task solving the plane construction system of equilibrium linear equations in nine unknowns is stated as at [1]. Then the general solution of this system with two free unknowns – required active force and required moment of active force couple is found. System of two linear inequalities in this unknown, determining conditions of physical realizability of the given equilibrium position with unilateral constraints is solved.

Building in the form of methodical directives the program is allowed with MATHEMATICA functions to put in computer and to solve the system of equilibrium equations of the construction, to find the set of solutions of inequalities, to compute the constraints reactions at some point of this set, to test the solution, to get it graphical presentation. With that a user can change and develop as the task so the method of it solution by MATHEMATICA tools.
